Turner, Monet, Roni Horn and many others have been or remain fascinated by the fact of painting, photographing or drawing the water in all its splendour.
A fluid, the fluid as materiality, water as the source of life. It is true that without water nothing grows, nothing lives… It is an element that both precedes, composes and supports the living, participates in the dynamics of the living. How to translate this state of fluctuating matter, this fluidity, this force also, by a gesture of drawing ? |
WHAT WE WILL TRY TO DO TOGETHER
We will not try during this workshop to explain water, we will not make an objective scientific description of it. We will immerse ourselves in order to enter into a relationship with water in a very personal way to seek to know it subjectively.
What are the different ways of meeting water, letting herself be carried away, even letting herself be crossed by his various properties? To what other possibilities does water matter open? Our approach will be totally lively, affective, emotional, dreamlike, poetic, symbolic and in a constant search for plastic, graphic, aesthetic, artistic, creative translation…
