Sound is an important component of our everyday environment. It surrounds, imposes or offers itself to us in all its variety.
It represents a continuous flow of information for the body whose sources vary, in quantity and quality, throughout the day: sometimes almost imperceptible, sometimes very present, sometimes pleasant, sometimes unbearable... |
What resonance does sound have in our own bodies ? What is our relationship to hearing, to sound, to music ? How do we let ourselves be crossed by sounds, by music, by our own inner music ? How do sounds/music invite us to produce certain gestures, certain movements ? How can we immerse ourself in what makes up a sound space and propose a two-dimensional visual presentation of it ? How do we graphically translate this dimension of perception ?
This workshop explores the relationship between sound and the act of drawing.
We will focus on the dimensions of rhythm, movement and gesture, but also on those of sound strata and formal composition. While entering more closely into the perception of sound, we will seek to establish matches with the gesture of tracing and drawing in an attempt to visually reveal the richness of different sound environments that are imposed on us or that we offer ourselves.

Depending on the possibilities and availability, musicians will be able to come and play and offer participants an immersion in their sound creation as a source of inspiration for their drawing.
